FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

What data do I need to get started?

A simple spreadsheet: one row per person, with their KPI value before and after the program. Optionally, a column noting who took the program. No system integrations or data warehouse required. You can try the whole experience on sample data in the simulator first.

Do I need a control group?

No. The Simple Estimate works with just before-and-after data on your participants. If you do have a comparison group of people who didn't take the program, the Controlled Comparison allows you to include them, but it's not required.

What KPIs can I measure?

LDImpact includes a library of 20 built-in KPIs across four categories:

Productivity

  • Average Items Manufactured per Hour per Employee
  • Average Support Tickets Closed per Shift per Employee
  • Average Loans Processed per Month per Employee
  • Average Sales Production per Employee ($)
  • Average Transaction Value per Employee
  • Average Upsell / Attach Rate per Rep
  • Average Deal Cycle Time per Employee
  • Average Handle Time per Employee
  • Average Response Time per Employee
  • Average Time-to-Fill per Requisition
  • Average Onboarding Time

Quality & Safety

  • Average Errors / Defects / Re-work Rate per Employee
  • Average Safety Incident Rate per Employee
  • Average First-Contact Resolution Rate per Employee
  • Average Regulatory Compliance Violations per Employee
  • Average On-Time Delivery Rate per Driver / Team
  • Average QA / Call Monitoring Score per Employee

Customer Experience

For leadership and soft-skills programs, you map the skill to the business metric it should move.

How is the dollar value of a KPI calculated?

You provide (or confirm) the dollar value of a unit of change in your KPI — for example, what an additional resolved ticket or a faster deal cycle is worth. LDImpact multiplies the credited change by that value across your participants to produce total impact and ROI. If you don't know the dollar value of a KPI, you simply ask the owner of that KPI in your organization to calculate it for you. The KPI must have a dollar-value equivalent for LDImpact to work properly.

How is this different from my LMS or survey reports?

Those measure activity and reaction like completions, attendance, satisfaction, quiz scores, and so on. LDImpact measures business outcomes: how much a business metric changed because of the development program, in dollars. It answers the question leadership is really asking.

Can I use it for leadership or soft-skills programs?

Yes. You connect the skill being developed to the business KPI it's meant to influence, and measure the change in that KPI on the team(s) the leader influences. The rigor and the ROI output are the same.

What happens if a program didn't work?

LDImpact gives you robust, fair, and honest results, including when a program's cost was more than it returned. That candor is the whole point: it's what makes the tool credible with finance and leadership when it reports a win.

Is my data secure?

Yes — and we're built to handle as little sensitive data as possible. Everything you send is encrypted in transit and hosted on AWS in the U.S., and the insights summaries use only aggregate, de-identified data — never individual employee records. See our Security & Privacy page for full details.
